About Us

Your Partners on the Road to Financial Success

The name ‘Emohruo’ (pronounced emmaroo) was given to my great grandparents’ farm at Menangle, NSW, back in 1917. The reason for using this name, apart from the family connection, is due to what the farm stood for – innovation, diversification and customer satisfaction. They were one of the first families to do contract ploughing back in the 1920s with the introduction of the motorised tractor. They were able to then further diversify into trucks, buses and other farm production. They continually looked for different ways to improve, keeping up with leading-edge technology and best practices, including coming up with the best possible ways to serve their clients. This dedication has allowed Emohruo to continue to grow and maintain a successful business for more than 70 years.

We have taken that same philosophy and applied it to both our business and our clients. Over the years, we have grown the business through diversifying the client services we offer to provide a greater number of products and services, including financial planning, retirement planning, wealth management, investment planning, estate planning, personal superannuation and more for clients throughout the Macarthur & Greater metropolitan areas. We have our value proposition focused entirely around the client experience. We also wish to be around for more than 70 years and take you on your lifetime journey. Wayne Stevens – Managing Director and Certified Financial Planner®

I have been in Financial Services for over 20 years and have seen a lot of change during that time.

I am a Certified Financial Planner. I have a Bachelor of Adult Education, Diploma of Financial Planning, a Masters of Commerce (Financial Planning) degree and a Masters of Business (Operations Management) degree. I am a Justice of the Peace.

I enjoy helping my clients achieve their financial goals by providing tailored advice that meets their specific needs. I also enjoy spending time with my family, and I am actively involved in the Scouting movement, running both a Cub and Scout section and acting as a District Cub Leader.

I also enjoy most sports and play over 35’s baseball.

Paul Fitzpatrick – Certified Financial Planner®

I have been working in financial services for over 20 years and am a Certified Financial Planner® – recognised as the highest designation for financial planners globally. I also hold a Business degree, Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (FP), a Diploma of Superannuation Management and I am an accredited Aged Care & Personal Injury Specialist Adviser™. I provide advice on most areas of financial planning in particular retirement planning, retirement villages and aged care financial advice. I also provide advice to individuals who have received a personal injury payment. I am very passionate about making a real and noticeable difference to our clients’ lives and take great pride in helping people achieve their goals and providing them with the peace of mind they are looking for.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my young family. I also enjoy keeping fit by regularly visiting my local gym and mountain bike riding. I am a keen supporter of the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Michael Ashcroft – Senior Financial Planner

I have over 25 years of financial services experience. Some of my other accomplishments include my ability to build strong relationships with clients by identifying their individual needs and tailoring financial solutions to meet those needs.

I pride myself on working closely with clients to understand their goals. I am adept at formulating strategies for clients in line with these objectives to meet their wealth creation, superannuation, redundancy, retirement planning, wealth protection, tax and estate planning requirements. I am also a Justice of the Peace. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, playing over 35’s baseball and managing my sons’ soccer team with the Camden Falcons.

Amber Simpson – Financial Planner / Paraplanner

I began my career in financial services in 2000, firstly as a mobile lender before working for AMP’s Financial Planning Association in a conduit role between financial planners and senior management. I have spent the last three years working as a Paraplanner with Emohruo Financial Services developing my technical skills and knowledge base prior to becoming accredited as a Financial Planner in 2016.

I have recently completed my Diploma of Financial Planning and am currently working towards my Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning. I plan to commence a Masters of Financial Planning in 2017.

I enjoy the challenges and diversity of financial planning and feel constantly uplifted when I can see how my recommendations have a true positive impact on my clients.

When I am not studying or working, I volunteer my time as the President of the Kapooka Neighbourhood House, a defense aligned community centre supporting defense spouses and their families and enjoy reading the latest Matthew Reilly installment and crocheting.

Tanya Joliffe – Quality Assurance Manager

I have been working in the financial planning industry for over 30 years, with the past 15 years working in various compliance roles for AMP, Hillross and Emohruo Financial Services. I have a strong background in compliance, operational management, business risk and service delivery. I enjoy working with Emohruo as they value the client experience and demonstrate constructive behaviours. I have completed the Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning) and Diploma in Management & Leadership, and I am a Justice of the Peace.

I enjoy my weekends where I can relax away from the office with my dog, family and friends and a good glass of wine!

Edith Lauterbach – Senior Client Services Manager

I have worked in the financial planning industry since 2005 with the past 9 years working for Emohruo Financial Services as Senior Client Services Manager, including other various administrative duties. I am acutely aware of how critical client relationships are to the business today, and I have a genuine desire to deliver above client expectations. I have completed the Diploma of Financial Planning and hold a Cert IV in Business Administration. I am also a Justice of the Peace.

In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends and enjoy a good game of bingo.

Samantha Gater – Client Services Manager

I began my career within the finance industry in 2008 as a Member Service Office for a small Credit Union. I soon found my passion for the industry and began working as a Financial Adviser’s assistant while studying to become a Financial Adviser myself.

In 2015, I was employed by Emohruo Financial Services as a Client Services Manager and am continuing my studies.

I now have my Diploma in Financial Planning and have begun my Advanced Diploma. During my free time, I train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and am a busy mum to two little boys.

Wendy Stevens – Accounts Manager

I have had a diverse career across both the Hospitality and Financial Services industries over the past 26 years. I started my working career in hospitality and worked in all areas of an International Five Star Hotel where I worked my way to front office, checking in guests for a number of years before moving into the accounts department. In Financial Services, I have worked as the Accounts Manager at Emohruo Financial Services for the past 14 years.

Outside of work, I enjoy going on family trips and keeping fit by exercising with friends.
